Hoechst ditches polyester film
to focus on agrochemicals
HOECHST has disposed of its joint-venture stake in three polyester film operations it owned with Mitsubishi Chemical, to concentrate on agrochemicals.
Mitsubishi has taken full control of the business, which will be known as Daifoil.
Hoechsts disposal marks another step in its efforts to transform the chemicals conglomerate into a life-science company focusing on pharmaceutical and agrochemical products. Hoechst plans to sell its other polyester businesses.
