Homburg heads in
THE HOMBURG agricultural drain cleaner, now considered an essential implement in the Netherlands, is set to make its mark in the UK.
A tractor-mounted jetter, it includes a remote-controlled hose guiding system operated through two hydraulic motors. The five-chamber diaphragm piston pump is pto driven and delivers water to the nozzle at pressures of 12-15 bar (170-220psi) so soil structure is not damaged.
Homburg managing director Johannes de Boer says there are many parts of the UK where blockages occur in drains due to the formation of ochre – a problem hard to clear using rods.
The company plans to offer four models in the UK with prices from £5300.
