Hopes fade for Scots beef exports
HOPES are fading of an early restart of Scottish beef exports to Europe, according to Alan Kirkwood, president of the Scottish Association of Meat Wholesalers.
Mr Kirkwood identified the added cost of meeting new hygiene requirements as the major problem.
Mr Kirkwood, who said exports looked a “long way off”, said they were being held back by technical difficulties relating to the operation of cattle passports.
