Housing Bill attack
NFUofficials say governments proposed Housing Bill could create housing difficulties in rural areas.
Lobbying MPs before Tuesdays second reading of the Bill, the NFU pointed out that extending the "right to buy" option to housing association tenants could result in a shortage of affordable housing.
Government has said housing in communities of less than 3000 would be exempt from the "right to buy" option.
But the NFU says the 3000 cut-off figure needs to be rigorously examined because the lack of rural housing is not just confined to smaller settlements. *
