In control by phone

ITS good to talk – and environmental control of livestock housing by phone is now available.

"Brain" of the Klima Design unit is a speech computer which monitors and remote controls ventilation, cooling and heating systems within livestock buildings.

What sets the Klima unit apart is that the various control system settings can be altered by phone, just as if the operator were standing next to the control box. The operator request temperature changes, switch alarms on and off and adjust values and alarm limits.

Should a fault develop, the computer can ring up to a total of four numbers to alert the stockman. The system can handle up to 10 animal houses at a time. Cost of the speaking computer and phone system when linked to a 10-house ventilation/temperature/ humidity conntroller is about £2000. &#42
