TB incidence has increased dramatically in the last few years and is occurring in new areas, but why? asked VLAs Richard Clifton-Hadley.
"There must be some factors that allow TB to develop." However, TB could have been in the environment in these areas before, he said.
There is also little known about the transmission pathway for TB, he added. "But inhalation appears to be more important than ingestion."
