India sets conditions on soyabean market

INDIAS Forward Markets Commission will not allow futures trading in soyabean to start until the Soya Bean Processors Associations newly created futures exchange has complied with a fresh set of conditions.

The rule means that trading in soyabean futures will not now begin until October at the earliest. SOPA wanted to start in September.

The government insists the exchange must put in an online system even before it is allowed to start mock trading to familiarise members with the futures market.
