International rubber group under threat
THE International Natural Rubber Organisation (INRO) could go out of business following the withdrawal of two of its key members, Malaysia and Thailand.
The Financial Times reports that growing disenchantment with INRO is threatening the worlds last surviving global commodity agreement.
Malaysia and Thailand have indicated they will withhold supplies from the market in an attempt to bolster prices, but some observers say the attempt will be futile.
