Jig makes light of cross-drill holes

CROSS-DRILLING holes through a round bar or tube is one of those awkward workshop jobs. But the task can be made easier, says Technorton.

The Shropshire-based firm has introduced a jig that is specifically designed for making cross-holes. It can be used to drill in material of any size from 5mm (0.2in) to 40mm (1.6in) diameter, and locate any size of bush up to 16mm (0.6in) internal diameter.

Priced at £150, the cross-drilling jig can either stand alone or be clamped on to a pillar drill (01584-872689).
