Keep on using chemicals, says BASF

CHEMICAL giant BASF has told Scottish cereal growers not to hold back on using agrochemicals if they want to maintain crop profitability.

John Peck, business development manager of the group, said higher spending in conventional chemistry had resulted in better margins.

He warned that Ryhnchosporium had affected winter barley and disease was high in some areas.
