Kerry seeks base in continental Europe
THE Irish foods group Kerry is seeking to expand its foods business and set up camp on the European mainland.
The company has confirmed it is looking to make acquisitions in the short- to medium-term.
The group has facilities in Ireland and the UK from which it sells into some continental markets including Denmark, the Netherlands and France.
It believes the consolidation of the European food industry should offer opportunities.
The company reported a rise of almost 20% in full-year pre-tax profits to I£93.9m (£80.2m), on turnover up 10% to I£1.48bn.
