Knight sprayers added power

JOINING Knight Farm Machinerys Challenger 110 and 125 self-propelled sprayers is a 147hp, 3000-litre model.

As with other models, the Challenger 150 is a the result of a joint project between Knight and LW Househam. Knight builds the sprayer and fits it to the Househam power unit.

The 150 has a six-cylinder, 5.9-litre turbocharged Iveco engine and employs a four-wheel drive hydrostatic transmission offering three speed ranges. Carrying capacity is put at 5.8t and ground clearance at just over 1m (41in) when shod on standard wheels.

Like other Challenger sprayers, it features include two- or four-wheel steering, adjustable track width and height adjustable wheel legs. Suspension comprises coil springs with gas dampers. For the operator, an air conditioned cab is included in the specification. Boom options extend to 24m (79ft) with electric ball valve, four-section control. The 3000-litre tank incorporates a 300-litre clean water wash tank and stainless steel induction hoppers. Twin clothing lockers are also supplied. Also included in the standard build is the Knight DeltaSpray system to allow automatic application control, a feature to be found on other Challenger sprayers.
