Kuhn set to unveil new seed drill

Looking to make the most of its home-advantage, French manufacturer Kuhn will introduce a new tine-coulter seed drill.

Available with working widths from 4m to 6m, the Megant can be used in minimum cultivation systems or for rapid sowing in heavier and rocky soil types.

The tines are said to be capable of maintaining consistent seeding depth and soil penetration, even in such conditions.

A four-row stagger and clearance of almost 20cm ensure that trash build-up is not a problem when there is a lot of plant residue.

The company will also display its new SPV self-propelled, self-loading vertical auger feeder/mixer which joins a range of self-propelled horizontal auger mixers.

Available in 10, 12 and 14cu m sizes, the SPV can produce rations for up to 110 dairy cattle depending on the fibre content.

A 140hp Deutz engine powers a twin-range hydrostatic transmission capable of speeds of up to 45kph.
