Letter-writers back veggie
Welsh farm minister
TOO many agriculture ministers in the past have been closely connected to livestock or dairy farming, observes a letter writer to The Times.
He remarks that the appointment of a non-farming vegetarian to that post in the Welsh Assembly is a “refreshing change”.
Another letter writer in The Guardian approves of the appointment on the grounds that most of the animals whose welfare the new minister will be in charge of are also vegetarians.
