Local buyer goes whole Beds unit

LAUNCHED on to the market last March, Herne Manor Farms has been finally sold to a local farmer.

The 1963 acres at Toddington, Bedfordshire, were offered in up to five lots and although joint agents Bidwells and Gillingtons received offers on the various parts, a bid for the whole, considerably in excess of the £3.3m guide was accepted.

"Interest was mainly farming-orientated with a few parties looking at its proximity to the M1 motorway and the long-term development potential," says agent Jim Bryant, Bidwells.

Putting a value on the bare arable land, Mr Bryant received offers ranging from £1400-2000/acre for the various lots prior to the sale being agreed.
