Look beyond grazing

IT TAKES more than a successful grazing policy to secure a future in dairy farming. Thats why the MDC-funded Pasture to Profit project organiser, the British Grassland Society, is holding a Beyond Grazing conference on Jan 15.

The conference, at the Royal Agriculture College, Cirencester, Glos, will feature producer and industry speakers.

Topics include: Why once a day milking is just part of a low cost dairy system; changes in New Zealand dairy farming over the last five years; women in agriculture; breeding a profitable block calving herd and business strategy for growth. Places cost £60/person and must be booked through BGS by Jan 10 (0118-9318189, fax 0118-9666941) &#42
