MAFF confirms plans for food agency
THE Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed Government plans to enact legislation for a Food Standards Agency in the current parliamentary session.
A questionmark still hangs over whether the new agency will be funded by the industry or by the taxpayer which is forecast to cost £100 million to run.
