The victim was treated at the scene and taken by land ambulance to South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen where he later died from his injuries.

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (Hseni) has launched an investigation into the incident.

A spokesman confirmed: “The Hseni is investigating a fatal incident that occurred on a farm in the Omagh area on 9 December.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this most difficult time. We have no further comment to make at this stage of our investigation.”

Police have not named the victim, but next of kin have been informed of his death. HSENI inspectors will lead the investigation and prepare a report for the coroner.
