MDFoods has Scottish plans

MD FOODS plans to increase its presence in the UK dairy industry by moving into Scotland. But it will only do so if and when a suitable opportunity arises, says commercial director Roger Clarke.

The company already buys a considerable volume of milk from Scotland, but has no processing capacity there.

Contrary to some rumours, MD Foods has no plans to buy Scotlands largest dairy company, Scottish Pride. Mr Clarke said, while MD was keen to expand into Scotland, he was not considering anything on that scale.
