A new scheme has been set up in Merseyside to link farmers with people in urban areas where it is difficult to find fresh produce.

Environmental regeneration organisation Groundwork has set up a scheme which finds farmers new customers by putting them in touch with local people who find supermarkets difficult to reach.

Ken Dodds of Groundwork said: "For many people in parts of Merseyside fresh local produce is hard to come by. Estates may be well served by chip shops and off licences, but its hard to find a local greengrocer selling local produce."
