Milk crisis call to midlands farmers

DAIRY farmers in the West Midlands are being urged to attend a milk crisis meeting at the Staffordshire showground next Wed (Aug 12).

Organised by the NFU, the aim of the meeting is to seek practical solutions to the ongoing problem of cripplingly low prices.

"Dairy farmers are between a rock and a hard place because of the price wars between the milk buyers and dairy processors," says NFU West Midlands regional director Bob Forster.

NFU deputy president Tim Bennett and Chris Bird, Milk Marques product development manager, are among the speakers. The meeting starts at 7.30pm.
