VICON plans to launch a range of five round bale wrappers in tractor-mounted and trailed formats for the year 2000 silage season.
The introduction follows parent company Kvernelands recent acquisition of Finnish bale wrapper manufacturer NHK. Production of the wrappers will be transferred from NHKs plant to Kvenelands Naerbo factory in Norway where a dedicated team will develop the new Vicon range.
Of the five models, the 1250 is designed for tractor mounting or for use with telehandlers and front-end loaders. The 1500 model is a self-loading/unloading linkage-mounted model, while trailed wrappers will include the 1600, 1650 and 1700 models. The latter is a twin-arm version, designed for increased wrapping output. Both 1650 and 1700 trailed wrappers can also be used in-line behind balers and feature electronic automatic functions as standard to simplify the wrapping process. All wrappers will be marketed exclusively under the Vicon brand, contributing to Kvernelands strategy of maintaining independent product lines. Prices are yet to be announced.
