Minefield clearers

THERE is machinery to lift all manner of root crops – swedes, beet, carrots, for example – but to use similar equipment to lift mines is a rather new development.

Two machines, constructed by Standen, are destined for work in the mine-infested fields of Cambodia.

Based on the firms Clodmaster destoners, the Minemasters have a reinforced separating system, hydraulic drives and an integral roller to level the soil and allow lifted mines to be disposed of – assuming, that is, they have not already exploded. &#42
