More seed trouble

A SECOND consignment of seed potatoes from the Netherlands has reacted positively to tests for the bacterial disease brown rot.

The affected seed potatoes carry a Dutch farm number of 1-2400, and holders of the lots have been contacted by their local MAFF plant health and seeds inspector.

The UKs first positive case of brown rot was only recently confirmed in a consignment of Minerva seed potatoes in West Cornwall last month.
