A TOTAL of 3300 miles, 600 gallons of diesel and six days.

These are the raw statistics of the fund raising, round-Britain tractor marathon organised by the Rotary Club of Friern Barnet and Whetstone, north London.

Successfully completed last week employing the services of a Ford 8970 tractor, 13 drivers and the patience of several thousand motorists – each of which now has a thorough understanding of a tractors rear linkage – the trip was reported to have been mechanically uneventful.

Project organiser Jeff Skidmore reports the amount of money raised for multiple sclerosis research is still accumulating – those who wish to contribute can call Mr Skidmore on (01438-869537).
