Mugabe men hit Smith’s farm

SUPPORTERS of Zimbabwes president Robert Mugabe have invaded the farm of Ian Smith, the countrys last white ruler.

Mr Smith, who led white-ruled Rhodesia through the 1960s and 70s, is an outspoken critic of Mr Mugabe.

About 50 supporters of Mr Mugabe are said to be occupying Mr Smiths cattle farm near Shurugwe, 200 miles south of Harare, report sThe Guardian.

This follows the death of another white farmer, the fourth since the land invasions began earlier this year.

John Weeks died in hospital on Sunday (14 May) after being shot on Thursday (11 May) when his farm, 40 miles south of Harare was attacked.

The killers motive is thought to have been robbery.
