National Trust to buy Snowdon

By FWi staff

THE National Trust is to buy the summit of Mount Snowdon.

Farmer and mountain-owner Richard Williams has granted the Trust 100 days to raise £3 million for the 4,000-acre estate.

The land includes several houses, foxhound kennels and a campsite, and is expected to attract a lot of interest from abroad.

Mr Williams, who put up the summit for sale last month, said at the time he would not necessarily sell to the highest bidder and would prefer to sell to a fellow Welsh countryman.
