New Bayer group behind Syngenta

BAYER CropScience, the result of Bayer acquiring Aventis CropScience earlier this year, formally launched on Monday to take second slot behind Syngenta for UK and global crop protection sales.

"A company has come to life which will provide its customers with efficient, tailor-made solutions," said UK head Joachim Schneider.

"A strong product pipeline, including the 04H cereal herbicides and new JAU and HEC triazole and strobilurin fungicides, means we will now be striving for first place," a spokesperson added on Tuesday.

When biotech sales are included the new company already leads the world. In the UK and Ireland biotechnology and seeds will comprise a separate division, Bayer BioScience. &#42
