New triazole for mix?

NEW triazole, fluquinconazole, looks set to be the tank-mix partner for Amistar (azoxystrobin), reckons Dick Neale of Hutchinson.

"It is very good on septoria, and equal to epoxiconazole for rusts. Mildew control is good too."

Yield increases from the product used alone are limited to disease control responses however. So the addition of the strobilurin is still justified, he says.

Other triazole newcomer for next season, metconazole, has little to offer on wheat, Mr Neale adds. "It is marginally better than epoxiconazole on mildew, and that is all."
