NFU joins attack on council planners

THE National Farmers Union has lent support to a business group which claims that prosperity in eastern England is being damaged by over-zealous councils.

The East of England Business Group is concerned by a draft regional planning strategy which proposes “selective restraint” for developments around Cambridge.

Planners want to restrict employment growth until 2016 in order to prevent swamping the Cambridge areas infrastructure and environment.
