NFU set for reshuffle
CHANGES in the senior management of the NFU in London have been announced.
Policy director Ian Gardiner is to become deputy director general, while Martin Haworth, currently the unions head of economics, strategy and international affairs, will become policy director.
Mr Haworth will be responsible for the economics, taxation, technical and parliamentary affairs departments. Mr Gardiner will retain responsibility for the livestock, crops, environment and land use, and food and marketing departments. He will also co-ordinate union policy.
The moves will allow NFU director general Richard Macdonald to spend more time dealing with NFU Services, a separate company to be launched shortly that will sell union expertise.
such as economic and legal services, to other organisations.
