NEW HOLLAND is to move into tractor production in China, in a joint venture with the state.

Called Harbin New Holland Beidahuang Tractors, the concern – in which New Holland will have a 70% stake – will manufacture New Holland tractors in the 100-180hp range.

Production will be for home sale and for export, where, says a spokesman for New Holland, they will not compete with output from the companys Basildon plant.
