NI Hants Down fans pack ring

SUPPORT for the Hampshire Down continues to grow among Northern Ireland sheep producers who packed the Portadown sale ring last week for the annual breed sale.

A ram lamb from Ken Bowsie, Crossgar, Co Down, led the trade, bought for 620gns by Warrens-town Agricultural College, Co Meath. The lamb was by the stock sire Rademon Pepsi.

John and Michelle McCauley, Co Down, showed a smart ram lamb by Moneycarvagh Majestic Marvel to win the championship. He made 450gns to R Walker, Co Tyrone.
