NI Texel trade hot

TRADE for Texels at the Northern Ireland breed clubs show and sale was described as "hot and heavy" at the Portadown sale ring.

Top price of 900gns came for a ram lamb from Ballymena breeders T J Carson and Sons. They had the top average of £567 for ram lambs from their Downkillybegs flock.

A shearling ram from M and J Watson, Dundonald stood champion under Welsh judge Gareth Oliver. It made 800gns and help lift the average for the 28 shearling rams to £412. (Automart.) &#42
