CONTINENTAL growers are ahead of the UK in the adoption of precision farming with the Danes leading the way, according to Kemiras European precision farming manager Michael Grandzinski.
"Denmark is very far forward in precision farming. Our Loris system is being used by the Danish advisory service in an official program." Fertiliser application is very tightly regulated in Denmark and total nitrogen applications are limited by field.
"Growers have a nitrogen credit per field, so they are particularly interested in varying the use of that fertiliser in the field." *
