OFT referral on animal feed
THE Office of Fair Trading (OFT) said a secret price-fixing agreement that increased the price of animal feed substantially and may have resulted in higher meat prices for UK consumers has been referred to the Restrictive Practices Court.
The OFT said the agreement involved five international suppliers of the animal food additive lysine. The action is being brought against only Cheil Jedang Corp and Archer Daniels Midland Ingredients, the two companies that conduct business in the UK.
