Only hospitality of highest order is offered in Ulster

ON A very wet, blustery March morning I crept out of the house at 5am to fly from Heathrow to Belfast Aldegrove Airport. On arrival the sun was shining and hardly a cloud in the sky for the short journey to Edenmore Golf Club near the pretty town of Moira.

As usual the welcome was warm and friendly, we enjoyed the most delicious scones with our morning coffee; there were apple and cinnamon, coconut, dried fruit as well as plain ones all served with butter and home-made jam. Unfortun-ately, contact leader Sheena Birch was unable to attend but Diana McWhinney stood in for her. In next to no time the next years activities were planned and names collected for the FWC 50th anniversary celebrations which are to be held at the Ulster Folk Museum on Sat, Apr, 18.

If any members reading this fancy a weekend away, I know the Northern Ireland members would be thrilled to share their special day with you and you too could sample some of the amazing hospitality in the province. Call me for details.
