Oprah jury considers verdict

JURORS in the Oprah Winfrey trial, which has pitted Americas most famous talk-show host against Texas cattle ranchers, yesterday started their deliberations.

The focus of the case rests on claims made by Texan cattlemen that Winfrey cost them millions of dollars when both she and a guest on her show bad-mouthed the industry during a special on BSE. Cattle prices slumped to a 10-year low following her show, according to the cattlemen.
