Organic exchange launched on net
A SOUTH African-based group is behind the launch of an internet commodity exchange for trading organically grown produce.
Organics Africa has plans for the World Organic Commodity Exchange to trade in a wide variety of organic foods, including fruit and vegetables, spices and grains.
Customers can choose spot deals or contracts or forward delivery. The site, at www.wocx.net, will allow users to connect to packaging, freight and a range of financing options.
It will have a choice of six languages.
Customers include retail chains, manufacturers and farmers.
