Ostrich peripherals on sale

OSTRICH producers are finding more and more uses for the bits and pieces usually thrown away when the birds are slaughtered.

Two of the latest developments, a range of cosmetics based on waste abdominal fat and computer/TV screen cleaners using small feathers, were on sale by Hangland Farm Ostriches. Propr-ietor Frank Ayres said ostriches were currently fetching £700 each for meat and that these new uses would help profitability.
