OTMS meetings

THE Food Standards Agency will host two public meetings as part of its review of the over 30-month rule, which prohibits meat from older cattle entering the food chain.

The first meeting will take place in London on the morning of July 2 and will give people a chance to discuss whether any changes to the rule could be made without significantly increasing the risk to public health.

Peter Smith, chairman of BSE advisory committee SEAC, and Jim Walker, president of NFU Scotland, will both address the meeting. For more information contact 01772-767571 or e-mail otmreview@glasgows.co.uk &#42
