Pack doubles cordless drilling time

AS fitters know, cordless drills have a major limitation – the amount of work time the battery allows.

It is a point not lost on Makita, which has now introduced the model 6095 9.6V drill fitted with a 2.2Ah Ni-MH battery pack. This pack is claimed to effectively double drilling time/charge and allow immediate access to the advantages of Ni-MH battery technology, without investing in a new tool.

The conversion pack – comprising the battery and a dual use, one hour charger, which also accepts Ni-CD cells – is priced at £50 (01908-211678).
