Parry gets another term as FUW leader

By FWi staff

BOB Parry, Farmers Union of Wales president, has been unanimously re-elected to the post for his eighth consecutive term.

Mr Parrys reign as leader was endorsed by grassroots members at the unions Grand Council in Aberystwyth last week.

Dafydd Roberts was elected deputy president following the resignation of Brian Jones, who stepped down to concentrate on his farming business.

Gareth Vaughan takes over Dafydd Roberts job as the North Wales representative on the finance and organisation committee.

Also re-elected were deputy president John Phillips, vice-presidents Glyn Powell and Bryn Rees, and South Wales finance and organisation representative Gareth Davies.

Mr Parry thanked the council for their support during “one of the darkest times of Welsh Agriculture.”
