Pesticide inquiry to quiz Badminton workers
FARM workers on the Duke of Beauforts estate, at Badminton, will be quizzed about a pesticide leak which wiped out rare crayfish in the River Avon on the border of South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
River tests by the Environment Agency indicate the presence of the synthetic chemical cypermethrin, a controversial pesticide used in sheep dip and sprays.
The Environment Agency has visited several farms and other premises as part of its investigations.
