Pigeon shooters in the firing line
A RECENT mass shoot of wood pigeons and the crow family finds itself in the firing line in The Guardian.
The National Gamekeepers Organisation organised the shoot last Saturday (12 February), and attracted 8000 members across the country.
A critic of the event in the newspaper points out that the shoot is unlikely to have had much impact on the pests.
He also claims the damage to crops attributed to pests such as wood pigeons is very slight.
