Plug-in probes test hot spots

Increased interest in being able to check the internal temperature of potatoes destined for crisping has encouraged Protimeter to launch its digital hygrometer with plug-in temperature probe on to the agricultural market. The instrument, which also measures ambient temperature and relative humidity, has been used widely for environmental monitoring in the building industry, says product manager Chris Ranwell. Further extendable probes allow users to check for hot spots in stored grain.

The hygrometer costs £125 + VAT and the root crop temperature probe is £36 + VAT. Details (01628-472722).
