Police launch rural crime crackdown in Thames Valley
A seven-day police crackdown on rural crime has been launched in the Thames Valley, including free security measures for farmers, farm visits by officers and high-visibility patrols targeting known offenders.
The week of action, from 8 to 14 September, aims to combat rural crime with increased patrols to deter rural criminals.
Officers from the Aylesbury Vale Neighbourhood Team will be working with farmers, giving them crime prevention advice to help prevent them becoming victims of crime.

In addition to normal policing, officers will be carrying out a series of farm visits, offering tack marking, tool and quad bike security marking at crime prevention and reduction events.
From 8am until 11pm on Wednesday (10 September), officers will host a rural crime tweetathon on Twitter.
The tweetathon aims to highlight rural policing activities and work undertaken by officers. Farmers are urged to get involved by re-tweeting force tweets sent by @TVP_Aylesbury and using the hashtag #ruralcrime
