Police probe after ambulance damaged over YFC weekend
Police are investigating a video which appears to show a young farmer jumping on a North West Ambulance Service rapid response vehicle during the YFC convention weekend in Blackpool.
The ambulance service, which released the video on its Twitter feed, said the incident had caused £1,000 worth of damage.
The short video, which was shot from the inside of the vehicle, features a young woman dressed in what appears to be a YFC club shirt.

A spokesperson from the ambulance service said: “What may have seemed a bit of fun at the time has now unfortunately resulted in an emergency vehicle being taken off the road for repairs, which in turn will cost the NHS hundreds of pounds.
“This also has significant repercussions for the service, as while this vehicle is being repaired, it is not available to respond to patients.
“We have reported the incident to the police and we will assist them with their enquiries as necessary.”
A spokesman for the National Federation of Young Farmers Clubs said it was supporting Lancashire Police with its investigations to ensure that the incident was dealt with appropriately.
“The NFYFC completely condemns the actions of the individual in this video. This level of behaviour is not reflective of our Federation and has tarnished the reputation of the members who attended our annual convention weekend – the vast majority of whom behaved impeccably.”
A police spokesman said they were aware of the incident and enquiries were ongoing. No arrests had yet been made.
