Police unable to protect GM crops
RICHARD Childs, chief constable of Lincolnshire, has warned that his force could not guarantee the protection of six genetically-modified crop trials in his county.
Mr Childs said he would press the home secretary, Jack Straw, for special funding to protect the crops.
A contributor to the letters section of The Independent argues that people should have the right to know where the test sites are.
