Polish EU entry worries Germans


The practicalities of EU enlargement on farming are considered in the Financial Times

German blueberry farmer Katja Brecht tells how she is pushing for quality products to distinguish herself from Polish competitors

With Polands prospective EU entry within five years, Germany is bracing itself for 220,000 resident migrants a year.

Already Ms Brecht employs 30 Poles at her farm outside Frankfurt an der Oder.

The region is a barometer of public opinion in Germany, reports the FT.
